Career highlights past and present

Originally from the Midwest, Albert Martinez is a registered professional engineer with 35 years of experience in the industry. As a field engineering manager for a city public works office beginning in 1993, Albert Martinez oversaw construction inspection and other related activities in addition to supervising 70 staff members of the field engineering section.

In 2012, Mr. Martinez began working with Resource Environmental Group Services as a project administrator. However, the following year, HollyFrontier Cheyenne Refining, LLC (HFCR) hired him as an environmental specialist. He remained in that post until 2015, when he was named an environmental engineer.

Both HFCR roles required that he promote environmental protection compliance. The environmental engineer position expanded to managing all water resources at the refinery and being the point-of-contact for the City of Cheyenne Engineering and the Army Corps of Engineers, among other organizations. He also managed water conservation projects and oversaw construction related to corrective action and groundwater recovery. Presently, Mr. Martinez is a construction inspector with the City of Greeley in Colorado.

Albert Martinez earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's in environmental engineering from the University of Wyoming and Oklahoma State University, respectively. His professional interests also include membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Water Works Association.
